  1. Unfortunately it is. There may be some areas where it wasn’t popular so got discontinued, but those flavors are available in the markets up here in New Hampshire. I don’t like tangy coffee so a yogurt in coffee flavor would be awful. As a chocoholic I try every kind of chocolate because, well, it’s chocolate! Chocolate yogurt by any company is just terrible. I keep wanting to like it but it just doesn’t work. Unlike cream & sugar based ice creams, yogurt’s tanginess just doesn’t work well with yogurt. It’s a little like using soured milk in your coffee or hot chocolate. Some flavors just don’t work with yogurt.
Key lime pie, cherry, raspberry, orange & other fruit flavors are known for a bit of tartness or tanginess or sourness. Yogurt fits perfectly with those. I tried coconut yogurt & was put off the ta…

This is an excellent question: I have worked for a World famous flavor company, and we prepared all the 50 fruit preps and flavors for one of the very best yogurt company.
Yes indeed Coffee/Chocolate flavor yogurt was a failure.
Our flavor chemists, in fact, warned us, this flavor will most likely fail, and indeed it failed.
The main reason for its failure was: Chocolate and Coffee are related to sweet flavors, not with tangy yogurt. These are two clashing pairing and it is not popular even with die hard chocolate lovers.
Flavor Chemists were not keen to develop this combination however high ups wanted it.
In the end, we discontinued the product.

It is, although it may not be available where you live.
Ciobani, Oikos and Dannon make coffee and chocolate flavors. The first two are Greek-style yogurts, Oikos being a Dannon product.
There are also some store brands available. You may have to go outside of your normal shopping routine to find them.

  4. You mean this? It’s been available in the New York area my entire life. There is nothing boutique about mass-produced Dannon.

I would agree that they’re less common flavors, the coffee and mocha ones particularly. Perhaps some manufacturers believe that the flavors would not blend as well with yogurt?
