  1. It’s always the best to follow a doctors advice. If you do want to continue drinking tea then try the following things:
Steep your tea at lower temperatures and for shorter durations to make it more ‘light’
Avoid drinking tea on empty stomach. The best would be about 20 minutes after a meal.
Go for more oxidized teas, such as oolong, black and pu erh tea. Avoid white and green.

  2. Don’t be concerned! Many of us begin our days with a cup of tea, so you’re not alone. Tea can cause gastritis, which causes bloating and acidity, if eaten in excess or too hot on an empty stomach.
Drink your tea with some cookies or crackers, and don’t drink it too hot or too rapidly.
You can also try gradually switching to sipping warm water first thing in the morning to help you have better bowel movements, cleanse out toxins, and jumpstart your metabolism.
    Or
I’m not sure how you were diagnosed with gastritis despite having very unusual symptoms like a gaseous belly and belching, which are usually caused by aerophagia, or swallowing too much air while eating and drinking.
Gastritis, on the other hand, usually causes a burning acid sensation in the middle upper abdomen. So, to begin your day, take a cup of tea; I tell you, it will not cause you to have more gas or belch more.
People, including some doctors, are prone to making a variety of unsubstantiated claims.
    Best wishes.

  3. You are more likely to suffer from lack of stomach acid. (You probably say come on young guy!) Gastritis is thought as a result of high stomach acid but it is wrong in many cases. That’s why you are prescribed antacids, proton pump inhibitors etc. You should try to increase your stomach acid for a proper digestion.

You don’t have to give up drinking tea. But you should pay attention when to drink it. Drink your tea or any beverage at least 20 minutes before your meals. Don’t drink anything during meals and after 2 hours. This routine aims not to dilute your limited stomach acid for a proper digestion. If you try breathing exercise or have walks after meals, your digestion will be much better.
    Just try, it is free!

  5. Drinking tea, especially milk based tea can make you feel nauseated, this is due to the presence of tannins, which irritates the digestive tissue and leads to bloating, discomfort, stomach ache.

  6. if you drink more than 3-5 cups a day, you may feel so because it would increase the caffeine content in your body. Also, you should not drink Tea when you hungry and in empty stomach. There are possibilities of this problem.
if you drink only 3-5 cups a day and do not drink in empty stomach, it may be due to some other reason. Consult a physician before it becomes worst

  7. Am not sure how your were diagnosed as having a gastritis while having very atypical symptoms of a gaseous belly and belching, which usually is caused by aerophagia that is swallowing too much air when eating and drinking, gastritis usually causes a burning acid sensation in the middle upper abdomen. So drink a cup of tea to start your day, I assure it won’t cause you to have more gas nor make you belch more. People, so some docs too, tend to make all kinds of unproven statements.
    All the best.
