  1. 8 cup coffee maker holds on 4 cups of water. Because you think a cup is a cup. In the world of coffee a coffee cup is barely 5-6 ounces. A measuring cup is 8 ounces. Still short, but closer.

  2. Depends on how you define ‘cups’. In the US Imperial standard there are 8 fluid ounces to a cup. However most coffee mugs hold at least 10 or 12 ounces.
Next time use a measuring cup and see how many fluid ounces your Mr. Coffee pot actually holds.

  3. A coffee cup is 6 ounces. A regular cup is 8 ounces. A mug is about 8–12 ounces. So an 8-cup coffee maker makes 48 ounces of coffee. That’s 8 coffee cups, 6 regular cups, and 4–6 mugs.
Incidentally, I drink a mixture of mild and dark coffee because mild coffee has the most antioxidants and most caffeine but dark coffee is the best thing for the brain. On the other hand, tea is the best thing for the eyes, so I drink that too.
