  1. The first and top most reason it because, you love coffee!!! The smell of coffee, is unique and extremely complex from a scientific point of view. There is nothing that can come close to it in my opinion. However, it is the blend of flavonoids that give coffee the unique smell and taste rather than caffeine itself.
The second, more scientific reason is a conditioning effect. I believe that you are a regular coffee drinker. It has been found that the smell of coffee itself can perk up a regular coffee drinker, even before the cup itself. This is because as a habit, your brain has already associated the smell of coffee to caffeine coursing in your veins and waking you up. So, the smell of coffee alone, especially in the morning or when you are sleepy is heavenly!
Mix them both up and viola, heavenly smells of fresh coffee grounds! Enjoy your cuppa!

  2. you are not the only one.
Because it actually smells good and full of caffeine. Along with other aromatic molecules.
You probably just enjoy the motion of inhalation. A deep inhalation .
