    It’s not clear what your basis of comparison is.
    Less heat than… ? Other types of mugs? Made of of other materials? If so, what types? Ceramic mugs are perhaps the most common.
    But not all ceramic mugs are the same. Some probably hold heat better than others.
    One reason it might not be holding the heat as well as you like. It could be you’re putting coffee into the mug without warming it first.
    Before pouring coffee in your ceramic mug do you pre-heat the mug? (pour in hot water, let the mug get hot, pour the hot water out, then add coffee) Or do you simply pour coffee into a room-temperature, mug?

    Best way for coffee to stay hot is if the mug is nice and hot beforehand.
