Because there are too many coffee shops in Korea. It is crazy and the competition is really extreme. Imagine there are coffee shops every each corner and street.
Just too many coffee shops around
So, coffee shop owners must compete with cheap price or aesthetic interiors.
I think it can be a good or bad idea to create a Korean style coffee shop in a different country which depends on what country it is.
It can be risky like a 스타벅스 in Italy.
I don’t think that this is a uniquely Korean thing, to be honest. There are tons of lovely cafes throughout Asia and beyond.
Most cafes are independent small businesses whose owners take pride in their establishments, and there is always heavy competition and high turnover in the sector. The cafes that aren’t pleasant to be in are extremely unlikely to survive.
I doubt that a specifically Korean-styled cafe would have a notable advantage in any given country.
