The Bullet is certainly a more flexible roaster and more able to achieve consistent results through programmable/programmed profiles. You pay for that technological advantage; the Bullet cost a great deal more than the Quest. The Quest’s advantages over the Bullet (other than price) is that its construction allows easier user repair and user modification, so is a better choice for someone living in a more remote area or who is an inveterate tinkerer. If I were a small shop and needed a sample roaster at the lowest price, i’d look closely at the Quest. If I were a hone roaster or even smaller shop looking to provide 10–20 pounds of coffee per week of high quality, single origin beans, i’d probably opt for the Bullet.
If I was purchasing a roaster today, I prefer the Aillio Bullet over the other. This is based on reading numerous discussions at the Home Barista web site. The Bullet allows you to be more technical in the roast process, and has its own roasting software. This allows you to know more about what is happening inside the roaster during the roasting process. There is also a facebook group
