  1. As with many things, the platform for this answer is that it is all about personal taste. In simple terms, how do you like your coffee?
Another factor is, in which shop will you buy your beans or ground coffee?
Finally, there is the culture of coffee. In Bogotá, there are myriad specialty coffee shops selling coffee and the panoply of paraphernalia required to cold brew, hot brew, drip or press your coffee in. I like Colo Coffee’s Cafe in the Zona T in Bogotá. They take their coffee seriously, but with a light hearted flourish.
For convenience, I shop in Carulla, I buy Cafe Quindío Gourmet beans, which I grind for a French press. I’m not a one cup kind of guy.
Whichever way, the best thing to do is spend time and money tasting and adjusting the many brands available in Colombia. That will keep you busy for a year or two. Enjoy.

  2. It’s a strange paradox. Colombia is a major coffee exporter, but it doesn’t have its own coffee culture. The most common is instant coffee, or a coffee-like drink “tinto”.
Juan Valdez is a famous brand in the USA. It’s a fake name though, as there’s no such producer in Colombia. It’s been created purely for marketing purposes in North America.
Apparently, there are Juan Valdez cafés in Colombia. But, to be honest I spent five weeks travelling around the country without seeing a single one. Actually, it is (or was?) difficult to get a decent cup of coffee in Colombian cities.
