I personally have over a dozen types of Colombian Coffee from many departamentos as Colombia has a coffee region set amidst the rugged hills between Medellin, Cali and Ibague that produces some of the finest coffee in the world. However other areas as the Departments of Santander, Norte de Santander, La Guajira, Magdalena, Cesar, Huila, Putumayo, Cauca, Antioquia, Boyacá, Caldas, Chocó, Risaralda, Quindío, North of Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca, North of Tolima, Nariño Deparments, Arauca, Casanare, Meta, Caquetá have over 5,500 producers that grow coffee and produces some very different excellent types of coffee. There are 914,000 acres of coffee farms across 5 main zones and 19 sub-regions of Colombia. You will mainly find the Caturra, Maragogype, Tabi, Typica, Bourbon, Castillo, and mostly the Colombia Arabica varieties.
Colombia is in a great location for coffee production: it sits close to the equator, and its mountains can reach over 2,000 m.a.s.l. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains, has these organic High-altitude coffees that are the most sought-after Colombian crops. These indigenous natives are producing Bio-coffee in one of the world’s highest coastal ranges.
Many coffee roasters in NYC and Canada have severals or some of these types of Colombian Coffee on sale at different period of the year as the Colombian rain season influences the harvest and leads in some specific areas to two harvest seasons.
I personally know and believe the Juan Valdez coffee is nothing more than a Colombian Coffee name brand organisation and a format similar to franchises that originated as a marketing tool in 1958 and that many other Colombian producers have better Colombian coffee not sold under the Juan Valdez name.
Juan Valdez is a fictional character who has appeared in advertisements for the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia since 1958, representing a Colombian coffee farmer. The Juan Valdez character is used as an ingredient brand , to specifically denote coffee beans that are only grown and harvested in Colombia.
The National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia is entirely owned and controlled by Colombia’s coffee farmers, (cafeteros) which number over 500,000 peoples.

Juan Valdez is the main brand of the Colombian Coffee Federation. I’m sure you can get many coffee sellers that work independently, but with the Federation you have guaranteed quality.
It seems to be around 1 mile from Bryant Park. I have no idea if this is too far from you. I hope not.
Why do you want Columbian when Blue Mountain, Ethiopian and Kenyan are so much better? Coffee is sold and roasted by local roasters but they get it from all over the world.
