You might check out TouchBistro (company) . It’s a cloud-based POS, but they focus ONLY on restaurants and the food service industry, so they have really targeted your industry. There are lots of options out there that you could make work, but TouchBistro really does understand that industry, because it’s their niche. One of the aspects I like best about TouchBistro is their analytics – they have very strong reporting and analytic functionalities that enable you to really dig into and understand what’s going on with your business.
If you’re really tight on budget, you might check out Square POS. It’s relatively basic, so it’s not going to have quite the same level of functionality of TouchBistro, or be as specific for your industry, but you pay for it out of your credit card processing fees from each sale, versus paying a flat subscription fee monthly or annually. Once you’re up and running and generating a significant amount in revenue, though, this can quickly become an expensive system, so you may want to transition away from it at that point and move to something with a less revenue-based pricing model.
Nothing fancy, please take what ever is easy for you to operate, and easy for other users in your company as well.
Safety and security of cash and cards and accountability is a must.
As per my principle I can’t recommend a particular brand.
Use ONLY a POS provider who guarantees backup and service 24/7. Believe it or not that cuts down your choices to a mere handful. I think its ridiculous that a POS supplier to the food business would say “we provide support Monday to Friday 8am-6pm”. But this is the case for many. My restaurant’s use a POS supplier that fulfills the promise to be there when we need them- often 9pm on a Friday night or in the weekends. Make sure they agree to this.
Secondly use a POS that has LOCAL support. In this day and age the temptation is to go with a company that has support hubs- but this really is a problem if the issue with your POS cant be fixed remotely (meaning they dial into your POS through wifi). Having a technician in the restaurant making the call on replacing a printer or a hard drive rather than dithering around saves customers having a bad experience (as we all know that only those of us who have been doing this for a long time can effectively run a manual docket system)
look at the list of clients the POS supplier has. It may be impressive but look at which outlets are similar to yours. What works for a QSR doesnt necessarily translate into a good POS for a fine dining establishment. Also make sure you REFERENCE check clients! When I switched my POS supplier many years ago they kept my chain of restaurants on their sales kits for 6 years! Only one restauranteur bothered to call me – at which time I told him the POS I used back then was crap- I ended up throwing it into the carpark and changing
just check this site : e10foods.com. This might help you with your requirement. Here the POS system is cloud based so can be operated on your portable devices with Android App. No hardware required except printers. You also get various reports required for your daily analysis with dashboards.
