I am assuming you are not trying to avoid caffeine, because that would open such a huge variety of options (including water). The obvious answers will be forms of tea. I will suggest one which is readily available, though not so well known: yerba mate . (I only tried it because I had installed on my Raspberry Pi a Linux distro called Ubuntu MATE, and the “MATE” there does refer to yerba mate. I drink it as an iced tea.)
You could always drink less coffee, or switch to decaf. You could blend caffeinated coffee with decaf to make a less potent brew. That would entail a little more work than usual.
Then again, you could always switch to tea.
Besides coffee I sometimes make myself a green or black tea. Gives you a longer lasting kick and tastes great, even when it‘s cold.

How else could I expect to prepare myself to venture out into the world and deal with the hell that is other people, than to venture into that heart of darkness that is my daily morning ritual of a cup of coffee?

Whatever your reason for abstaining from coffee, there are tons of good alternatives out there.
If you are looking to take a break from caffeine to reduce a tolerance I would recommend trying out theacrine. Theacrine acts in almost the exact same way as caffeine does, but it doesn’t seem to possess the same potential for tolerance.
However if you don’t like the effects of caffeine, I would recommend either Cordyceps or D-Ribose . Both are great healthy alternatives that will be sure to boost your energy.

Royal jelly. Once upon a time I wanst coffee drinker but still need it that energy rush! So a friend told me about royal jelly (there is liquid, and in capsules). I have to say its bitter but hey so is coffee. It gave me a sweet energy boost throught the day and helped alot with the morning laziness and yawning
If you want coffee, there are some good coffee substitutes at the health food stores. The one I like best is called Dandy Blend, which includes roasted barley, chicory, suger beet, and dandelion root. I think it’s actually better than coffee.
There are others out there, too.

Actually I like milk and juice (made at home, fruit juice or vegetable juice) in the morning. Then about 10 o’clock, a cup of tea will be nice.
Ginger tea! The instant crystallized kind bc it has a strong kick to it. Major anti inflammatory, helps with arthritus, blood pressure, menstrual cramps, etc etc.
Please note it is a blood thinner and not recommended during certain stages of pregnancy.
