  1. Coffee is all about caffeine. Nobody wants to drink stale and luke warm coffee instead everyone need piping hot one. Using descale means, you are reducing effect of water (high fluoride and lime scale levels) which gradually lower down the performace of machine’s heating element. Hard water is an abundant form of water which consists of minerals like calcium and magnesium. This hard water when dries off leaves behind hard, off-white, chalky deposit on the surface called lime scale. This lime scale keep on accumulating the element surface and reduces its heating efficiency. So you may start feeling low temperature and steam issues. 2. If you don not clean your coffee machine, you would missed your very good coffee flavor…
The scale buildup on the coffee machine will impede the heat and brewing process of your roasted coffee beans!
In a sense making the machine to work very inefficiently!

  3. It will cake up with gunk, mostly calcium and lime, from the water. This can do several things:
It will build up inside the water tank if your machine has one, and could cause hot spots that can damage the tank.
It will buildup in the heating coil (or around your heating coil) and can cause hot spots that will burn out the coil. And if can also restrict water flow through the coil.
It will build up in the tubing from the tank or coil to the drip head, and water won’t flow to the head properly.
In a machine with a pump like a coffee pod machine or espresso machine, it can damage the pump.
It can impart an off taste to the coffee.

  4. Quick answer, open your wallet, if cashless??? Descale your machine, SO YOU, WON’T BE BUYING A NEW COFFEE MACHINE EVERY YEAR!!!
If you descale the machine, you may buy a new one, every 7 years???

  5. more than likely in the end the element could get scaled up so much with limescale that it will overheat the element , I wouldnt think it would ‘explode’ or anything because normally they have a safety electrical cut-out so that when/if the element overheats the safety cut-out will cut the power to the element . Normally these kind of cut-outs activate they normally cannot be reset or reset themselves automatically so then its time for a new coffee machine. Also without descaling the machine regularly you may also keep finding a weird back-taste in your coffee.
