I’m not into the standard straight walled coffee cup with something witty printed on it. At home I have several favorites, for different moods. I like finding funky 1970’s era cups or hand thrown pottery cups or pretty porcelain.
My favourite cup is one with Donald Duck on it. When I was little, I always liked the quacky cartoon, who could speak his mind and not get pushed around. He was also a sailor and adventurous. I carried around my plush duck with me everywhere I went for some of my younger years and still have him. My cup is also 10 ozs so bigger than our normal mugs and has a bigger handle so it is easy to hold. Definitely love my mug and no one else touches it.

a twelve oz. brick red ceramic cup that has a diamond pattern and a nice long handle that doesn’t taper so I can get all my fingers in. It’s shiny and heavy and has thick walls so that they aren’t easy to break. It was a Kate Smith creation from Kmart, and my sister had it for years when she moved in with me. I had a hand made ceramic mug that my niece made me for Christmas three years ago, and I used it almost daily for my herbal teas because it held about 16 oz. and I could brew a large cup and enjoy it all day, but my dear sister is getting older and her hands don’t work like they used to and she dropped it in the dishwasher and chipped it. Since it was custom made, I recued the pieces, put them back together and put it up. Then Kate took her place, but I’m still looking for a replacement I can call my own.
