  1. To me, it means exactly what it says. You may say “hello”, “good morning” , but don’t try to engage me in deep conversations or discussions. Because I can’t think, process or even care without having a 5 minute sit down to enjoy my coffee.
    It runs in the family and I’m not even the worst one.

  2. I mean exactly what I say when I say that.
    I am not a morning person. When I was in my teens, I used to wake at 4am and get ready for high school. I enjoyed the quiet morning, being the only one awake, able to eat my cereal and read a book before starting the day. Now I look back at myself and wonder what the hell I was thinking.
    I acknowledge that I am likely to be extremely unpleasant in the morning, until my body has had the opportunity to come to terms with being forced to stop sleeping and drag itself across the city to my office by 7:30am. I do not wish to offend anyone or snap at them, so I ask them to kindly give me some time to imbibe my caffeine and become a functioning human being for the day.

    1. I’m not a morning person and it is a 45 minute commute to work.
    2. I have a colleague who likes to start hitting me with questions the minute I walk in the door. Literally, at the front door.

  4. I happen to be one such person. I wake up slowly and coffee is a big part of the process. Don’t tell me anything important until I’ ve had it because there’ s no way I’ ll remember it. I might not notice if you set off a cannon.
