In my opinion all energy drinks I don’t like unless it all natural and have no preservatives or chemicals in them. You need to be labels and look up what is in them.
They are harmful only if they contain artificial sweeteners or any calorie-free sugar replacements.
Sugar replacements in any form (including stevia) cause blood sugar spikes at the next meal. When blood sugar spikes, it triggers hormones that cause weight gain as well as causing a person to have more cravings later, which could lead to additional weight gain.
Not only this, but blood sugar spikes can cause insulin sensitivity problems, which can increase risk of diabetes.
Several reasons, including, but not limited to the fact that often they are still diuretic and so they don’t actually hydrate; the fact that they prime your cells to receive sugar because they’re sweet, but then there is no digestible sugar and so there’s hormonal issues; they retrain your brain to accept a different level of sweet than is healthy; they are often laxative because of the sugar alcohols to make them sweet; etc
A zero-calorie energy drink is an oxymoron. Food energy is measured in calories.
If you mean a zero-calorie stimulant drink containing caffeine, the risks are the same as for any other caffeinated drink. You don’t want to overdo it but, in moderation, it’s pretty harmless.
The chemicals added to make it sweet are harmful to the body. Calories are not all what health is about, actually they aren’t even a good measure for weight loss.
As Craig Good said, they’re relatively harmless in small, infrequent amounts.
The stimulants (like Taurine) in energy drinks can negatively affect your enamel in a gnarly way. They are corrosive, and can also cause damage to your esophagus and stomach lining.
I emphasize “can” because, in my experience, I’ve never seen this actually happen to anyone I know, though there are some studies that demonstrate these effects can occur after long-term, massive consumption of energy drinks (Think: 2L/day for a decade or more).
You’ll be fine. Your body is a resilient little bugger, and people these days don’t seem to give it enough credit.
The same as any other soft drinks and should stay far away from them period . They don’t make any healthy one’s at all sorry
