  1. Like other things that end up in a septic tank that don’t get broken down by the bacteria in the septic tank, coffee grounds just add to the solids layer at the bottom. It’s best to try to keep stuff that won’t breakdown out of the tank so it doesn’t need to be pumped as often.

    Spread them on your garden. They’re good fertilizer.
