  1. When I find myself in need of a hot pick-me-up between museum visits or shopping I choose one from my absolute favorites:
    1. Sant Ambroeus
    2. Ralph’s Coffee
    3. Birch
    4. Ines
    5. Flora Coffee Bar
    6. Bluestone Lane
    7. Hutch and Waldo

  2. 6 years in the area and these were my faves:
    1. Effy’s Cafe : spacious casual bistro, great waitress/baristas, everyone minds their own thing, lots of people on laptops. Nice on days with nice weather.
    chocolate rugelaches, mozzarella tomato sandwich
    2. Champignon : small Italian cafe with personal size marble tables, can sit for a very long time without being disturbed
    apple Italian soda, cannoli
    3. Jax : elegant new cafe, go downstairs for a cool art gallery space with big long wooden tables, some more tables outdoors
    anything chai
    4. One of the Starbucks near 86th St.
    Clover Reserve coffee
    Hope you enjoy.
