There is a diet in YouTube posted by Versatile Vicky which claims to lose 10 kilos in 10 days. The diet consists of 6 eggs with yolk per day. Would it be effective? Is there a possibility that I might gain weight instead of losing?
You can check the answer of the people under the question at Quora “coffee and lemon weight loss youtube“
As for losing weight I think it can work because in taking 6 eggs/day, you are consuming less calories compared on what you consume regularly. HOWEVER, take note of the consequences.
It can mess up with your body. As you can see, the different nutrients found in food have specific functions in the body. By taking 6 eggs per day for 10 days, you are seriously depriving your body of the essential nutrients needed for optimal function.
Take note that eggs, especially the yolk, have very high amounts of cholesterol present. By the time that you are done with your supposed “egg diet” your LDL and total cholesterol levels will blow out of proportion that would greatly increase your risks of cardiovascular diseases.
By the time that you are done with the said “diet”, you will get back of your usual weight again. This phenomenon is called yoyo-effect.
Ask yourself. Can you really eat only eggs in a span of 10 days. Would you rather have a variety of dishes every time that you eat instead of eating just 6 eggs per day? Would you sacrifice your health for losing weight drastically?
REMEMBER: If you want to lose weight safely these are the things that you must have. These are discipline, diet and exercise. Without these factors, the dream of having a lighter weight would just remain into a dream.
P.S. Consult a health professional especially if you have medical conditions.
I have lost 17.5 kilos in 4 n a half months. I consult with a dietician and she gives me a variety of meals over a week which include paneer tikka, chicken tandoori or tikka, veggies, eggs, bran roti, stuffed roti, poha, idli, lentil cheela, museli, wheat flakes, fruits, etc. I am required to consume atleast 3 litres of water in a day. If I lose well in a week, she gives me free meals where I can have anything. Yes, anything. I do cheat sometimes cuz I’m a foodie n have parties at office sometime. I do treadmill twice a day with 20 mins session each n I cover a distance of 2.25 kms atleast during each session. I try not to overeat.
Weight loss should be gradual. If u lose say 30 to 40 kilos in 3 months, it means u have followed a tough regime n if u deviate a bit, u ll definitely gain all those kilos again. I plan to lose another 20 kilos say in another 6 months. I’m in no hurry. I just want to be disciplined enough to maintain my desired weight thus I strongly believe in the proverb that slow n steady wins the race.
I have lost 10 kgs in 40 days with her diet plans…very simple and easy to follow plans.
And I have never felt low on energy. You can follow various plans for first few kilos. Then you will be able to mix and match plans and keep count of calories yourself. I also had cheat days in between but never gained any weight.
I am still continuing with her diet plans loosing more weight. Self control and long term goal is important if you have to loose weight.
Best of luck for your journey.
Hi, I have tried this one.
Eggs, apples and oatmeal. This is the 900kcal one I think. I had gained weight and was rather desperate to lose some so I tried this. I lasted 5–6 days. I did not lose too many kilos. I reasearched a little turns out when you suddenly cut calories your body goes into conservative mode and holds on to its fat reserves. I did not have any adverse effects. I modified it a little because I couldn’t eat that many eggs. It was very little food. Got difficult to sustain beyond 2days.
To answer your question I lost 2kgs. Gained back 1kg within a week and the other one or two over time.
These diet claims are garbage.
The recommended calories per day for a person is around 2000 calories.
A kilogram of fat contains 9000 calories, while a kilogram of protein or carbohydrates contains 4000.
Anyone who claims to know how to lose a kilogram per day should be ignored.
Victor Allen’s
Nope don’t believe this at all one kilo is 2.2 pounds in weight which requires a 7000 calorie deficit per day even if you don’t eat you will save say 2500 calories per day that’s not enoght for one pound weight loss. What will happen is your muscles will be taken as energy so you may get in a deficit of around 3500 to 4000 but that’s the limit. Your body will also go into starvation mode and all available energy will go to powering your organs and reduce metabolism which is very bad for you.
If its just eggs that you are eating every day, you would only loose weight
The only thing I get from this suggestion is that somehow the intake of protein from the eggs along with starving yourself is going to help you lose weight, which is probably right. However, this is the most unhealthy way of going about this. Just excessive. Eat what you normally eat in moderation and go for a long walk during the day. & drink water!
Is the diet just 6 eggs a day and nothing else? That’s 480 calories a day, which is Very Low. You are unlikely to gain weight with so few calories, but you are likely to have very low energy levels.
Eggs are great food. They are mostly protein, with some fat. Those are the things you need. The carbs in eggs are negligible, which is fine, you don’t need them. Many if not most micronutrients require fat to metabolize properly, and an egg provides micronutrients in fat. The whole idea is to make a baby chicken out of the egg, it has to contain a good variety of nutrition. Eggs will also leave you feeling full for a while after eating, which is great.
I would be skeptical of any claim that you can lose that much weight that quickly. It is possible to cut that much weight in that time, but cutting weight is different from losing it. The lack of carbs will force your body to use up its stored glycogen (sugar), which means losing a lot of water weight too. Just eating eggs wont do the trick, and cutting weight quickly can be very dangerous. Many athletes who need to cut a lot to make weight for an event (usually a fight), have put themselves in the hospital and missed their event entirely. It is very easy to do it wrong and end up in the hospital. The risk is one reason not to do it. The other is that it is entirely temporary. When a fighter makes weight, as soon as they are officially past weigh in, they put the weight back on. I have seen a guy gain 22 pounds in 24 hours. It was amazing. I’ve also seen guys show up for the fight so sick that they threw up repeatedly in the locker room, and lost their fight horribly. Rapid weight loss is almost entirely temporary, and is mostly dehydration.
Many people, myself included, have had good results with high fat-low carb diets, combined with exercise, and intermittent fasting. You have to learn a lot and pay attention to details to make it work, but it does work for a lot of people. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, it becomes a lifestyle change, not a diet, and you talk about it in terms of nutrition.

Losing wieght in such fast way is not good for health and long lasting results. Some of these weights are almost water weight and also you may lose muscle mass. A combination of physical exercise ( cardio like running or walking) with strength training and balanced diet is necessary for losing weight in a healthy way. 1. Stop all sources of sugar, like ones in the beverages and tea.
2. Eat enough protein. ( 3 eggs a day plus any other protein sources like fish /chicken or meat)
3. Hydrate well( ie drink at 2liters of water daily)
4. Get enough sleep( at least 7 and above hours lf night sleep) you may have 1 hour of day nap
5. Do not eat dinner at your bed time. Eat your last meat at least two hours before sleep. It is better to do some physical activity like walking and etc.
6. Drink hot water with limon ginger and green tea.
7. Reduce your stress levels. Drinking cucumber choice reduces it.
8. Change your refined carbs to complex carbs like wheat and outs.
There is no short cut of weight loss.
It takes at least one month to reduce 6kg in a healthy way. Or three months to lose 10kg.
This is a starvation, not a diet. It’s dangerous, stupid and whoever suggested it should be arrested.
Even if it did work, after 10 days what are you going to do? Return to your normal diet? That’s what put the pounds on in the first place, so you’ll just regain the weight you lost.
And 1 kg per day is too rapid. Take a look at this approach : it’s slower, but because it is a permanent change in how you eat, you will not regain the weight you lose. Try it for a couple of months and see what you think.
