  1. As one of the other answers implied, unless you cook food directly on the hot plate, you have little to worry about.
As to the other concern (overheating the carafe) the spots missing their coating will be lower (like potholes in an asphalt street) so they will not make contact and will contribute less heat to keep the carafe warm. This also should not be a problem unless most of the coating is gone so that there is only contact in a few small areas, posing a shatter hazard from localized heating.
    Moral to the story:
Next coffee maker should have bare metal warming plate. Actually easier to clean (you CAN use a scrub pad if needed but a little vinegar soak usually does the trick) and nothing to fail causing you to be forced to replace it.

  2. Unless you scramble your eggs on it every morning, no problem. I doubt that it will affect how well the Mister Coffee works for its intended purpose.

  3. Me personally? No. I got rid of my Mr Coffee coffee pot somewhere around 1984….
Depending on how long you’ve had your coffee maker, it may be time for an upgrade. I recommend using a Chemex or, if you’re willing to upgrade your coffee experience even further, get a French press. They’re very inexpensive and make much better coffee than you can get from a Mr Coffee machine.
