  1. Sure. What is not OK is eating cake and pastries together.
“But you are Italian and Italians eat cake and pastries for breakfast all the time!”
Well,we may eat a small slice of sponge cake, or one piece of pastry, or a few tea biscuits for breakfast. Or a slice of a very rustic bread (unbleached flour, water, yeast, a little salt, that’s all) with a teaspoon of jam. If we are still hungry we may add some milk or a yogurt, and a piece of fruit. Probably there is less sugar in our breakfast than in a couple of sluces of American white bread.

It wouldn’t kill you, but I wouldn’t recommend doing it more than seldom.

  3. Don’t see why not.
People eat doughnuts and pastries all the time for breakfast. A better diet would likely include more fruits and cereals.
I subscribe to the high fat and high protein diet, so bacon and eggs are it for me, with a side of cheese toast, with hash browns or grits for extra carbs, with no apologies or regrets.
You will not live forever, so go for it.
And coffee is the elixir of life itself.

  4. If you don’t care how you’re going to feel the rest of the day.. carbs and caffeine will give you a boost straight off, but you’ll crash a couple hours later.
That being said. You’re a free human, do what you want.
