  1. Edit: Drink water!, you’re going to still be thirsty after a large iced coffee because coffee is a diuretic; which means it will make you urinate more quickly than the same volume of water would… AKA it is DEHYDRATING. Drink 2–4 Litres of water a day; then you should think about drinking coffee…
Drinking fluids only becomes a problem when you take in a lot in a short time frame e.g. 6 litres of water in an hour. This in extreme cases can cause an imbalance of electrolytes in the body and causes shut down.
If you are thirsty then coffee is one of the worst things to drink because it is a diuretic (causes you to urinate more than drinking just water would).
Drink water if you are thirsty!
Depends on your exercise level and the weather etc. I for one drink 2–4 litres of water in a day.

  2. You probably don’t drink enough. Try drinking a decent glad of water every couple of hours, and one before you drink about other drink.

I don’t think that coffee is thirst-quenching. You need plain old-fashioned water to quench thirst. If drinking plenty of water doesn’t quench your thirst, see your doctor. He or she will give you a blood test and see if you’re diabetic.
