  1. Decaffeinated coffee is, well, kinda decaffeinated at best. When you are dealing with decaffeinated coffees it is best to remember that they are not 100% so. Regardless of whether it has been removed by solvents or the Swiss water method it will still have some caffeine remaining in it.
So with the description of decaffeinated coffee aside it is easy to see that a mixture of 50% caffeinated beans and 50% decaffeinated beans would yield slightly more than 50% of the intended caffeine in the brew.
EDIT: So, onward to answer your question as it was written before it was modified by the Quorabots.
When the water enters the brewing basket it mixes with and actually floats the grounds in a suspension with the water. This allows the water, decaffeinated grounds and the fully caffeinated grounds to mix together and all of the flavonoids and chemical compounds to be extracted as equally as possible.

  2. Basically. Of course “caffeinated” is relative. The particular bean and how its roasted can affect how much caffeine is in regular coffee. The number can vary quite a bit. Then, with decaf, it’s not 100% caffeine free.
Point is, don’t worry to much about precision. Find a mix that works for you that you enjoy.

  3. Above or below won’t matter once the water is added and flows through the grounds. Then, it will mix together just as you planned with half the amount of caffeine of regular coffee.
