LOL My cat is a tea fiend, its not caffeine because I drink decaffeinated but if I leave my cup unattended she will sneak up on it and when I turn round she has her head stuck in the cup lapping it up I have to use a lidded cup these days because I think they are not supposed to have sweeteners

Caffeine at our levels isn’t great for cats- I’ve had cats and know cats that like a few slurps of milky tea or coffee, one of mine liked Coke, but the levels in the drinks are for beings 20 times, at least, the mass of them so it’s better not to let them but I know anything warm and milky is nectar to them. Also don’t drink it after they’ve been at it, you don’t know when they last licked their butts and you don’t need that in your hot beverage.

  3. Yes coffee among many other common human foods is quite toxic to your cat. That includes chocolates, any onion family food incl garlic, sweeteners, alcohol, any lactose products, grapes and raisins and a many flowers, but lilies are especially deadly.
    Like with many toxins, the dosage is key. It’s unlikely a small lick of coffee will do much damage, but avoid frequent exposure and certainly don’t leave whole beans or ground coffee laying around.
    In general I always recommend to “catify” your home and create a safe space for your feline companion. Walk thru each room and assess any dangers your cat might get into, like you would for a toddler.
