  1. The studies which have been conducted to quantify the harmful effects of coffee drinking have resulted in conflicting results. Some studies even say that regular coffee drinkers have lesser risk of getting arrhythmias and PVC’s. Many people (including medical professionals) know that coffee is known to increase the blood pressure of an individual. But increase in BP after drinking coffee is seen only in acute coffee drinkers and not in chronic drinkers.
Different types of coffee can impact an individual differently. It is safe to drink upto 4 cups of black coffee with adequate sugar. But it is not safe to drink more than one cup of those fancy coffee’s with lot’s of sugar and cream in it.
In conclusion, I think it’s safe to say that you can continue to drink black coffee with adequate sugar twice a day, if you were a regular coffee drinker before your heart attack. If want to start a new coffee habit, it’s best that you don’t.
