  1. Your drink will not be made until you pay for it through the mobile app. Therefore, if you make an order, you will be charged for it immediately and your drink will be made whether or not you pick it up.
    Short answer: Yes.

  2. The moment you send through the order on the app, it deducts the total from your Starbucks card. You can’t place the order without paying for it in advance, so yes, you still pay even if you don’t pick it up.

  3. Yes you get charged, but you can pick it up later. Last week I ordered while stopped at a light about six blocks from the Starbucks. When I got there, they were closed because of some kind of mechanical malfunction. I went back the next day, and they gave me the drink. They have a record. Or you could call the manager and ask for a refund.

  4. I believe that you have a sense of duty to pay the bill, regardless of whether you went in to get it or not – because you still ordered it, and a Starbucks employee still made your order. It’s not a fault with Starbucks, it is your own responsibility to get your drink.

  5. Yes. You are still charged because you placed the order and time (and the store’s money) was spent creating that order whether you pick it up or not.
It’s your responsibility to pick it up. If you don’t then that’s on you.

  6. Of course you are charged. Did you not see the money come off your app? They don’t even receive the order request until it is paid for.

  7. Yes, the app charges you as soon as you place the order. If you go and explain why you couldn’t pick it up right away they’ll usually make you a new one though.
