  1. Another option (in addition to Michal Young ‘s)— Visit Catalina Coffee on Washington Ave. and ask if they sell unroasted coffee beans. Their sister company, Amaya , roasts and sells coffee beans right here in Houston. They are coffee evangelists and they may also sell unroasted beans too.

  2. I am just starting out home roasting & bought Green coffee at Spec’s Downtown Houston. They have a good selection so I bought Columbian Supremo, Costa Rican Tarrazu, & Brazilian Santos. I just roasted some yesterday & the Columbian is my favorite so far; used a Presto Poplite which did an okay job. We lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, visited coffee plantations and enjoy darker blends (not necessarily espresso tho).
    [Our favorite roasted coffee to buy is Community Club Hotel Blend: a dark rich full bodied coffee (that I have not duplicated yet!)]
