  1. Getting a permit for a hotdog cart anywhere in NYC is super costly. It’s can cost you from $700 to $400,000. But hot dog vendors in NYC make bank. With lots of foot traffic, long hours, and the cheap price of making a hot dog, hot dog stand owners turn a profit of about $10,000 to $4.5 million per year.

  4. It is difficult to say, but I do know that the hot dogs sold by street vendors in New York City are very good. Eating a hot sausage in a bun with mustard and sauerkraut from a street vendor is one of those little pleasures that New York City offers.

  5. As anything else it depends from the location and HOURS of operation . Generally speaking though , NOT much because of heavy NY state taxation . I’d be surprised if ( after inventory , taxes , license fees , truck commute etc ) the operator can clear out anything over $30-$45 annually .
