  1. Starbucks says 30 uses. I strongly feel their use case scenario is quite aggressive. Some people have used them hundreds of times with no problem. Avoid washing them in dishwashers. One of the most common endings for these cups is the lid warps from heat and no longer snaps on properly. I’ve had mine for a couple months and use it at home, definitely over 100 uses by now.
Updating over a year later. I still am using the same one.

  2. I have one that is going 10 years strong! It has had a rough life with years of abuse (I put it in the dishwasher… it has toppled onto the ground more times than I can count), it has dents, the coating is coming off of the exterior, but it is a 20oz hot cup that still keeps my drink hot 10+hrs and doesn’t leak. Starbucks cups are pricy, but in my experience, their gaskets have lasted longer than other brands that I have tried, keep beverages hotter for longer, and have more secure of lids. I haven’t had one die yet. My oldest is 14 years, but I don’t use it nearly as much as the one that is 10 years old, which is why I don’t count that one. 🙂

  3. I have a stainless steel 16 oz Starbucks cup that I acquired in 2006. I found it in our warehouse and no one knew whose it was, and no one working there wanted it. So, I took it home, ran it thru the dishwasher and I have been using that cup for 13 years. The lid now leaks, but otherwise it is awesome. I have tried to find a similar one but don’t like the way the sides hit my lips. Bust Buckies cup ever. I will keep it till the lid breaks. If you want to talk about the environment, over the years I would go through 2 or 3 plastic travel mugs a year, prior to finding this cup.
