  1. The best answer I’ve come across, that seems to make the most sense to me, is to wait an hour after having coffee (and with or without a snack) to have a meal and vitamins, or two hours after having a meal and vitamins to drink coffee (with or without a snack).
why should this make sense? The stomach will take longer to empty after a meal than after coffee and a snack, and coffee after a meal will tend to digest faster than the meal…. so you don’t want the coffee to “catch up” to the vitamins in the intestines and void all benefit of the B, C & E vitamins, which it will do.

This won’t be a popular answer, but what the heck …
    A martyr for truth 🙂
The coffee is fine. Just toss the vitamins. Unless you have a specific vitamin deficiency, you shouldn’t be taking them, as they are just giving you expensive pee.
Hmm, thinking about this, another alternative health practice unsupported by the evidence is to drink your own pee, the pee of others, or even animal urine. Like Juan Manuel Márquez, pictured above drinking his body’s finest.
    Aha!
You could lessen the cost of all of those unnecessary vitamins, by just taking a single dose, and then recycling it forever.
And this is where it gets really crazy. ‘Cos that was Márquez’s motivation.
    A slippery slope—lubricated with piss?

  3. Why wait?? In fact the vitamin C and copper in the vitamin will ensure there is no detriment from the coffee.
Coffee comes from… the coffee bean. That food came with loads of other nutrients, so why would you necessarily now need to keep them separate?

  5. It depends entirely on how your stomach handles the substances. I have a very low tolerance for caffeine and vitamin pills. Most people do not. Experiment and learn.

  6. Caffeine is commonly consumed with vitamins in Red Bull, so I do not think it matters, and I have never read any advice on the topic. If you drink coffee after the vitamins, then some of them will be metabolized faster. If you take vitamins after coffee, then some of them will be metabolized faster. I see no difference.

  7. Makes no difference. Vitamins are among nutrients in foods. Best source of nutrients is food. There are thousands of things in foods which are not in any pill. Normal people eating normal food derive no benefit from any vitamin pills.

  8. I don’t know about vitamins, but I DO know that I am supposed to wait one hour after taking my thyroid medication before drinking coffee. I would therefore deduce that one hour would probably be a reasonable amount of time.
