The easiest way is to use instant coffee. Pack your own sugar or sweetener and powdered creamer in little paper packets. And don’t forget to pack a plastic spoon.
But, you need hot water. So, I recommend you get a small electric kettle. You can buy one of these in a 1.5 liter size for about $25 US.
If you don’t like instant coffee, try the Aeropress coffee maker. It is basically a portable plastic French press with paper filters. There are also several small portable pour-over devices you can use. See:
I would never stay at a hotel or a cruise without an espresso maker in my room, or at a minimum a coffee area for guests. I don’t drink drip coffee either.. I abhor instant coffee!! It is a muddy swill dehydrated and barely scented with a coffee flavor. No powder creamers or liquid ones. Just a little milk please!!…..
Use these these 4 things to make excellent coffee in a hotel room.
1-Small immersion rod.
2-Coffee mug.
3- Instant coffee
4-Coffeemate.
Boil water in the coffee mug with immersion rod. Add coffee and Coffeemate to your taste. Coffee in a hotel room is ready.
Use either an electric kettle or an immersion heater (smaller space used in your luggage), water, and instant coffee OR coffee grounds and a French Press. Don’t forget to bring your creamer of choice.
Firstly, only conversations about good coffee are worth having.
Bring a hand grinder, beans, and either a small Espro Press, Aeropress or Clever coffee dripper and an insulated cup or small thermos. Ask the kitchen to fill your vessel with boiling water. Brew.
Stay in a nicer hotel.
With a kettle, hot water, coffee, milk, sugar and a spoon …
Okay it might not be up to the standard of coffee made in your coffee maker in your own kitchen. But in most UK hotel rooms, this is how you do it.
I hope this helps.

Every hotel I operate either has an in-room coffee maker, a coffeemaker in the lobby, or both.
If you visit a hotel that doesn’t have either, then ask if there happens to be a coffee maker that was left behind by another guest that you could borrow.
I travel with a jar of instant coffee. I’ll mix it in with hot water from the sink, but it’s not unknown for me to eat it straight from the jar when I’m in a hurry. If I were staying in a location that did not have a coffee maker for a duration of time, a visit to the local Walmart or pharmacy would likely find a coffeemaker for under $20, if not $10 on sale. Second choice would be a kettle or an immersion heater, all of which I would likely leave behind with the hotel with a note “In case your next guest needs one”.

I travel in the US. All my hotel rooms always have coffee makers, plus coffee all the time in the lobby. Never been in one without one. Think I’ve used a coffee maker once. I just bring a few bottles of Aldi’s coffee latte, or go to the lobby.
