Open up the top of the machine and put in filter into the basket.
Scoop in one to two tablespoons of coffee grounds per cup of coffee that you want to make.
Measure out as many cups of water that you want cups of coffee in the coffeepot (most coffeepots are marked).
Pour this water into the back of the coffee machine.
Replace the coffeepot, with the lid down, where it belongs.
Close the top of the machine.
Make sure the machine is plugged in and flip it on. It will start brewing.
When all the water has dripped into the coffeepot, it’s done. Enjoy your caffeination!
Another tip for making a better cup:
1. Use a paper filter (also reduces the cholesterol in your coffee – didn’t think of that, did you? Me neither.)
2. Spread the filter and rinse it in hot water before placing it in the machine
3. Place the filter in the machine, add grounds
You put the water, filter and coffee into a blender, tern it on and let it run for at least 30 seconds.
Then you pour the whole mess into the coffee machine and turn it on.
If that doesn’t work, go to MacDonald’s where you can actually get surprisingly tolerable coffee.

To make coffee (see Tracy Chou ‘s answer). I inadvertently skipped that part but will elaborate on how to make it taste better.
The simple trick is to brew the same amount of coffee everytime even if you want less. You will be adjusting coffee grounds until you find the strength you like. The standard measurement is 2 tablespoons per 6 ounces of water. Some feel this is strong; I do not. I level the scoop (with a knife) to ensure accuracy.
Expert Tip : Water is retained in the grinds. So, the baseline for water will be slightly higher. That is, 5 6 oz cups of coffee requires more than 30 oz of water to make 30 oz of coffee. When you add or subtract grinds the retained water will vary too.
Ice cold water brews best along with a gold filter in a simple machine. Use these if you are able. (I have not tested the Coava Kone filter yet.)
Quickest way to learn is to watch – once you’ve mastered this art there’s no turning back. Something that’s not mentioned in this video is to remember that when you fill your coffee pot with water – fill it up all the way to the brim of the spout. Some of the water is retained in the coffee grounds, so you will get less coffee yielded if you don’t add sufficient water.

I like to keep my coffee beans/grounds in the freezer, sealed in a bag so they keep their flavor longer. Grinding the coffee just before you use it also tastes better IMO, if you own a grinder and/or don’t mind putting in a bit of extra effort. As for the type of grind, I’ve read that a really fine grind is better for espresso drinks, relatively coarse is better for filter coffee.
