Shreya, that’s a fairly easy question to answer. Of coarse, I’m assuming the potted plants are outdoors and not in you living room. If the squirrels are inside your house, then you’ve got a bigger problem than I think. The easiest way to keep squirrels out of your outdoor plants is to have a big, old tomcat out in your yard. Where I live we have a lot of squirrels, but for some reason we also have several neighborhood cats that like to relax in our yard. And guess what… the squirrels never come down from the trees and bother my potted plants. So just to keep it that way, I keep a small bowl of cat food in our yard as a reward to my cat friends.
Spread used coffee grounds around the plant up to five feet from the plant.
If that doesn’t appeal to you, a .22 rifle works and Brunswick stew will cause you to not waste the freshly harvested meat. The skin with fur can be tanned and used for decorative coats, collars, hats and post apocalyptic jockstraps. Havahart squirrel traps work. Remember that you need to transport the vicious beast at least 10 miles from your plants. You also will have to rinse and repeat as new squirrels take over your territory.
