  1. Starbucks coffee has a higher caffeine content.
According to Keurig, caffeine content for an 8oz. cup of their coffee ranges from 75mg-150mg (source: Frequently Asked Questions ). The smallest size Starbucks brewed coffee (“short”/8oz.) has about 180mg of caffeine and the more commonly listed “tall”/12oz. size has about 260mg (source: Pike Place® Roast ).
To make good, strong coffee at home:
Get rid of your Keurig machine.
Buy whole coffee beans, a coffee grinder, and a pour-over filter system, Aeropress, French press, or home espresso machine according to your preference. Personally I think the pour-over and Aeropress methods offer the best combination of price, quality, and convenience.
Apply hot water to ground coffee beans as indicated by the brewing device of your choice.
    Enjoy good coffee.

  2. Because it’s watered down. It’s a convenience machine with weak coffee. It looks pretty and is functional but you’ll never get a good cup of joe out of that thing. Put it on craigslist or give it to a friend and get yourself a proper coffee maker.

  3. Get a real espresso machine. Buy freshly roasted beans. Grind them. Experiment with type of beans, grind settings and amount of coffee until you find an amazing fit to your taste.
And please leave your Kuerig machine to gather dust.
    Also, try different coffee shops.

  4. There’s not much actual coffee in those little cups. I suggest getting one of those little wire baskets that work like cups and putting more coffee in. That seems to work for me.
