As a child, I would go camping with my family every other week. My grandfather owned a large wooded land back in the day and we would use it as our camping site. It was preferred that way since the property was fenced and was empty of any dangerous animals nor creepy people lurking around, but it was big and my uncles who farmed there were but a few, so you never knew who could have snuck in.
My cousins and I would play between the trees all day long. There was a shed somewhere a bit far from the already built-in cabins and us kids would go in there and play away from the eyes of adults. Someone would occasionally come to check on us.
Exploring the woods and playing hide in seek along the way was our favorite game. Sometimes we would go in too far before an adult gets to us and we would find some strange things sometimes.
We found a huge tree once that had strange writings in another language on it. never found that tree again.
We found a tiny white kitten that looked like it was a newborn and brought her back with us. We never knew where it came from since we didn’t find its mother nor siblings.
We found a staircase once. It wasn’t attached to anything. Just a staircase like the one you would find in any house, just without the house. And it was in an odd location too. It was in a tree crowded area so it couldn’t have been attached to a building that collapsed. It looked new and modern too.
We thought a demon was following us once. We had seen a dark figure moving towards us and us being stupid 9 to 10-year-olds thought it was a demon and ran back to the cabin. It might have been a worker for my grandfather for all we know since he hired them to help with the farming sometimes.
Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away back in 2006 and my uncles decided to sell the property so we can’t go back there anymore.
