Probably a little of both, though it’s not very strong on either front – it’s usually about a cup’s worth of coffee and a shot or two of whiskey.
    I’ve never tried one before.
It’s worth a go if you can find a well-made one – quality varies quite a lot with this one unfortunately. It’s probably an acquired taste; personally I quite like the stuff as an occasional thing – not something I’d drink more than one of.

  2. I suppose it could, but the coffee always makes me pee out the alcohol to fast to get lit. Now, Mountain Dew and vodka provides the right ratios of alcohol, caffeine, sugar, and carbonation to a hyper wide awake drunk. It’s like being Bigfoot on speed.

  3. Add “fat” to the list. We used to make them at a restaurant I worked at in the early 90s when Irish Coffee was seen as being “sophisticated” after dinner.
A shot of Jamesons before the coffee is added, then two spoons of sugar dissolved to make the coffee light enough for an inch of cream to be poured over a spoon and float on top so it looks like a pint of Guinness.
Truly revolting really. Very sickly. As an alternative I’d go for an espresso in one cup and a Jamesons over ice in a separate glass.
