  1. Yes and no.
Because the instant coffee granules dissolve best in hot water, i suggest you add a dash of hot water to the coffee. just enough to make a runny paste. then add your cold water and stir some more. The amount of heat in the “paste” will be minimal and you can then enjoy your cold coffee.

  2. Instant coffee is a freeze dried product. The process makes the coffee granules have lots of holes were water of any temperature can get in and rehidrate it. However…water molecules are moving quite a lot so they interact more with any soluble mixture, so the hotter the water the faster it will grant you that shot of caffeine that we all need to jumpstart the day.

  3. Yes, but the granules would have to be completely dissolved. This is a reaction most commonly achieved by heating the water. If you stir room temperature water with instant granules, it will eventually be drinkable.

  4. If you need the caffeine that badly, you could just eat the crystals raw & wash them down with an iced cappuccino or something. But that’s the coffaholic equivalent of chasing a boilermaker with a Long Island Iced Tea. It’ll clean you out, but it’ll leave you without a working esophagus.

  5. Drink it cold, hot, with cream/milk or even eat it raw by the teaspoon if you want to(not reccomended), it makes no difference other than taste, the caffeine will still be absorbed by your body either way.

  6. I have purchase instant coffee from KoffeeExpress . Brew it at whatever temperature you like to drink your coffee at. However, it may be slightly harder to dissolve the coffee and get good … You may know that you can buy special kettles that heat the water to 92 deg c to avoid scalding the coffee.

  7. It will “work” even if you just dump the instant coffee packet into your mouth. Instant coffee is just strong brewed coffee that has been freeze dried to get the water out. The resulting brown powder doesn’t generally taste amazing, but will get the job done. You can drink it however you feel like it.

  8. You can use both hot or cold water to make instant coffee. It’s the same. But flavors and odors will be different because the heat will help evaporate some compounds better. So the perceived effect will be different

  9. Depending on the brand. Our instant coffee is freeze dried so it is easily dissolved in cold water as well. Some instant coffees will require some hot water first and then adding the cold water.
