No it does not . The misunderstanding is that coffee causes osteoporosis but it not true and osteoporosis doesn’t necessarily mean poor growth . So the short answer is no it doesn’t stun growth in children . But children are not supposed to drink coffee on a regular basis . Rather switch them to green tea still has caffeine but doesn’t cause the crash like coffee does and extremely beneficial and healthy or fruit smoothies without sugar or home made protein shakes or wheat grass and other green juices .
From my own experience, I started drinking “leche con cafe”, milk with coffee, when I was about 5 years old. It was a trick, thought up by our cook, to get me to drink more milk, everyday she would fix a pitcher with reconstituted powder milk, sugar and coffee, place it in the fridge, and I would enjoy the hearty, cold drink, all day long. As to the main issue in the OP his question, did it stunt my growth? Both my parents were of VERY SHORT STATURE, my mother was 1.5 meters, and my father was 1.6 meters. My sister and I, she got to enjoy the leche con cafe too, grew to tower over our parents, by respectively growing to 1.75 for my sister, and I to 1.8 meters! So, 60 odd years later, I still enjoy my morning dose of java, but at this time, it is definitely MORE COFFEE than milk! Need that cafeine boost to start the day!

No. My older sister drinks A LOT more coffee than me but I am the one who stopped growing in middle school.
I spent some time searching the National Library of Medicine for references that deal with this question and wasn’t able to find any. It is possible I wasn’t using the right search terms or other terms may find some information but I doubt it.
There were multiple papers dealing with the effect of caffeine on the developing fetus.
So, I think it is currently safe to say no.
No. The idea that coffee might stunt growth got started when it was discovered that caffeine interferes with the bodies ability to absorb calcium. Coffee’s impact in this regard is felt on the other end of the age spectrum. Caffeine can be a contributing factor (albeit minor) to osteoporosis. However, coffee will not cause a child to be otherwise shorter than they would be.
Now, coffee isn’t a good beverage to give to kids for other reasons. Namely, caffeine is a stimulant which…
