  1. I think it is an extra surprise to look inside a cup and see there is something more, no matter how small. Everyone loves a deal, loves a little something else and unexpected. It could also be a small bunch of flowers, a gift card, a little bottle shot of tequila or even the key to your heart!
Whatever you do, don’t put an empty crumpled wad of paper in there. I don’t know how many times I have seen someone eagerly uncrumple a clump of paper only to see that hidden disappointment on their face.

  2. My favorite coffee mug has a design of lots of pens and pencils on it. And yup, I use it for pens and pencils!
If a coffee cup or mug has a theme, you don’t need to fill it. If it is just a coffee mug, you could fill it with favorite coffee beans or a gift card to a coffee shop.
    Great idea! Enjoy!

  3. Who are you giving it to? Parent? Sibling? Coworker? Friend? Distant relative? Lover? Date?
the mug by itself would be fine in certain situations, like to a coworker or someone you don’t know that well.

  4. Just a mug isn’t very original, but being creative with the mug will bring joy to whoever receives it as a gift.
Try inserting a gift card from their favorite coffee ☕ place..
Try inserting cute individually wrapped mini muffins, cookies, or biscotti.
Try incorporating scratch tickets or inserting imported tea bags into the mug…
    Try flavored syrups or liquor’s

  5. I have given coffee mugs as a gift and I have filled them with really good chocolates – like Lindt! If you are making more than one mug for a few teachers, you could buy a variety of chocolates at Costco. It will cost you less by doing it this way.
You could also fill the mug with biscotti or homemade cookies. They should be in their own small bag in the mug to keep it fresh. Then, I would wrap it in cellophane and put ribbons at the top. It presents really nicely.
As a teacher, I have received a mug filled with chocolates. Last year, I also had a parent who did something a little different – she put a gift card in the mug for a coffee shop like Starbucks. It was such a nice Idea!

  6. It can be a good gift by itself. If you know for sure that the person can eat candy (for example, they’re not on the keto diet) and know what kind they tend to like, adding the candy can be a nice touch. If you don’t know them well enough or have any mutual acquaintances who could tell you what they like (consider that chocolate and nuts are both fairly common food allergies), I’d skip it.

  8. A coffee mug, by itself is a good gift. A coffee mug filled with packets of creamer, or some other special flavor enhancer would be even better. Or you could even fill it with special bags of tea.

  9. I’ve done candy, post-it notes and pens, gift card and empty. It depends on the occasion and the recipient. If you think the occasion requires more thought or cost add to it. If not your good to go.

  10. Yes, I would fill it up with something! Perhaps a few tea bags or packets of coffee, some candy, or cookies — or a couple of coffee shop gift cards. If you have time you can even personalize the gift card with the recipient’s own photo!!!

  11. No. It’s a cheap gift and looks it
Buy a better box of candy. Or a pint or even half pint of good liquor. You’ll spend about the same amount and it will be appreciated more.
