  1. Nothing but dirty water should EVER be put down your sinks, only a limited amount of debris with dish rinse after passing through your garbage disposal. Also nothing but solid human waste down toilets. Your sewage and waste water drain pipes are not engineered for trash collection .

  2. The coffee grounds in the sink drain Urban Myth was started by an under employed plumber trying to generate new drain clearing business for himself.
Unbelievably, many were taken in by his story and his business briefly skyrocketed.

  3. No. It can clog your drain.
What IS beneficial is to compost coffee grounds. Many communities have compost program that works alongside of recycling so if you can’t compost the grounds yourself, look into this.

  4. Absolutely not. Even a small amount will settle in corners and badly sloped pipes and in a very short time you will have a complete blockage.
Look hard in any coffee shop and you will see staff and baristers knocking out the grounds into a bin before refilling with fresh coffee. If it was easy to flush away they would be doing it!
