  1. I believe it is a best buy date. It will be printed on the box. If past that date it will not hurt you. It just might start losing its freshness and taste.

  2. They have a “best before” date, rather than an expiration date. The date is printed on the sleeve, rather than on the capsule.
According to Nespresso’s website , coffee can be consumed after that date, for at least a year after production.
However, while the website claims that the “best before” date is approximately 6-9 months from the date of production, I have checked at least 20 sleeves (in Argentina) where that date is set around eleven months after the date of production (the 31st day of the n+11th month after production, regardless of the production day).

  3. Capsules do have an expiration date and it will be printed on the box/sleeve. However, Nespresso guarantees that your coffee will be fresh up to one year after purchase from an official Nespresso channel. I am still drinking capsules that I bought at the same time as the machine in 2012 that are still fine to drink. The easy test is to check whether the foil is still a soft bump, making the capsule seem inflated. If the foil is concaved into the capsule, making the capsule seem out of air, it is no longer usable.
