    I don’t really use the terms coffee machine or coffee maker, because there are so many and I want to be specific regarding the type of brewing method.
    The other way one might answer this, is that many Americans refer to the brand of the method. For example, many people say “Keurig” if that is the brand of coffee machine/maker they use. Others might say AeroPress, if that is their favorite, or Chemex.
    The point is, as someone who uses multiple methods to make coffee every day and has preference for the method, over the general term for the machine or process, it really depends on how you brew your coffee. I personally have no use for the typical drip coffee “makers” or “machines”, my espresso machine is a finicky gal, but the rich, thick, foamy brew she concocts is a dream.
