  1. Yes, you technically can, but no – you would likely not have good healed results. The FDA has not approved ANY tattoo pigments for ANY uses, so no, it’s not ‘not approved’ for cosmetic uses. Cosmetic tattoo pigments are formulated to reduce the incidences of healing /fading to cools tones like blues, purples and greens – the color are formulates without these tones in the bases, traditional tattoo pigments it’s unknown what the base is and therefore you may tattoo a beautiful brown brow only to have it turn blue after 3 years. Some very experienced PMU artists do use traditional pigments, but not without thorough research to determine base colors and how they will heal in the skin.

  2. No definitely not. Have you ever delt with tattoo ink? It’s so much more saturated than microblading, almost to the point where it stains everything and is almost impossible to remove! You can use tattoo ink for practicing on latex but definitely not microblading. The formulation is completely different. Microblading pigments are more stable and made in a way that they wouldn’t heal ashy or fade to unnatural colors once faded.
