Yes!! I recently started mixing matcha into my morning coffee. It is absolutely fabulous! I’ve been whipping matcha powder into a small amount of coffee, then adding more coffee, cream, and a little honey. I throw the whole thing in the bullet for maybe 10–15 seconds, (no longer due to steam buildup), and then enjoying a much better beverage than the buck can make.
I never do it, but I’m planning to do it because it sounds interesting.
The question is; how much quantity of each both?
I am drinking it right now and find it quite delicious. It brings out different flavours in the matcha and coffee that I don’t usually notice. Overall it has a flavour reminiscent of roasted chicory coffee alternatives. I used only a small teaspoon of matcha in a regular shot of espresso. Would recommend.
It makes no sense to me. People that are into the health effects of tea wouldn’t care to mix coffee with it for an extra caffeine jolt because matcha already contains plenty of caffeine. I’ve never tried it but I can’t imagine the taste would mesh well; it sounds disgusting. Purely for a drug-like effect is the only way it could possibly make sense, if the balance of an extra blast of caffeine combined with some countering effective elements in matcha might make sense, but even that seems quite a stretch, because again matcha contains caffeine, and plenty of it.
As far as how to do it that seems pretty basic; buy matcha, mix it with water, pour a strong coffee into that. The main concern with matcha is buying a good enough grade, related to minor differences (minor to people that don’t drink matcha) requiring better and more expensive grades, and one would expect a lot of those concerns to drop out when the idea is to mix it with coffee. Fresher, better grade matcha may contain slightly different effective compounds but it’s hard to envision the person that sees specific grades of tea products as a necessary, healthy input and also thinks doubling down on caffeine by coupling it with coffee makes sense. Unless that tastes lots better than it sounds caffeine pills mixed with matcha would work, or just matcha, or matcha along with other tea throughout the day, but that gives up the caffeine jolt someone might be looking for.
Yes. Matcha and matcha lattes are a weird flavor but mixed with coffee the flavor is masked and you get the health benefits.
Here is a cafe that mixed them:
New illy matcha coffee drinks combine green tea with espresso for a limited time
I wanted to try my wife’s matcha, but I really like coffee. I put a tablespoon of matcha in the coffee filter first, then half as much as normal of ground coffee in my drip coffee maker. I drank it with a splash of milk. I like it. Tastes earthy. I’m not going to have too much; I think it’s a bit high in caffeine.

L-Theanine and Caffeine make sort of a team. Mixing Coffee with matcha is just adding more caffeine to the mix.

I am from India and have been drinking for a long , long time very good quality tea varieties from Darjeeling tea garden and some from Sri Lanka, Japan and China ( all liquor, no sugar and milk or lemon). I prefer ( first or second flush). Beside that I like green Jasmine tea. I have not taken yet MATCHA, but I know it is powdered green tea, harvested from tea plants grown under tree shades and there are specific methods to process it.
Also I enjoy, once in a while, good variety of coffee ( black, not decaffeinated).
With that background, I do not think, except for health buff, a mixture of coffee and matcha tea will have difficult to have market among the tea lovers as well as coffee lovers.
It may be worth for you to prepare a mixture of the two and try among your friend and get their opinions.
I have definitely taken them subsequently; a cup of coffee after a cup of Matcha. But, I never mixed them up.
Unless the test becomes disgusting, the mixing actually gives sense because Matcha is packed with L-thiamin; can help you with the jittery effect of coffee. But, you should make your coffee slightly weaker because the matcha itself has a lot of caffeine.
I will definitely try it; but not the product you mentioned. I am getting my matcha in a few days; I will mix with my own coffee. I will report back.
Actually both coffee and matcha green tea Both have good health benefits not just good that really good There is one thing that’s not good about coffee though in that’s how high the caffeine is It’s not really a natural caffeine but matcha green tea have something to make For that it has the ability to turn Non natural energy in to Natural energy in other words it converts it Let you know what else does that to moringa And you can also combine that with both of matcha green tea and coffee Matcha green tea Then Moringa tea But that does not mean moringa It’s not one of the healthiest teas on the planet Is definitely one of them and if you combine all 3 of those things that I’d listed you will feel unstoppable yet calm
Ummm… fortunately you can do anything you want. Try it out; maybe you will like it and maybe you won’t. As for additional benefits, if the flavor is bad I’d guess that the added benefits would be near to none.
