  1. Isn’t that like ordering a cheeseburger without any cheese?
I think, by definition, a latte is made from espresso, isn’t it?
Whatever you call it, I’m pretty sure Starbucks will make any drink you desire, if you describe what you want to go into it. Of course, this assumes that they have the ingredients on hand.

  2. Yes, you can get a steamer, which is just steamed milk and syrup in any flavor that they have. Their hot chocolate is a latte drink.

  3. A latte is espresso and milk.
If you take the espresso out of a latte, it’s no longer a latte.
Want a vanilla latte but with no espresso? Okay, that’s a vanilla steamer. Want a white mocha without espresso? That’s a white hot chocolate. Want an iced pumpkin spice latte but no espresso? That’s now a cold milk with pumpkin sauce.
You can get any latte-style beverage without espresso. If you don’t know what to call it you can say something like, “I would like a steamer in the style of a caramel macchiato.” They may have more questions for you, but that should be enough information to help you get what you want.

  4. Yes, you just have to ask for a decaf latte and you’ll get one. You can also order chai latte and that doesn’t have coffee in it, but just a spicy tea.

  6. Yes, you definitely can, but they usually have their own names. For example, without espresso, mocha becomes a hot chocolate, and an iced mocha is a chocolate milk; a latte becomes a steamed milk, and an iced latte is a cold milk.
There are some drinks that don’t have their own name without espresso, but if you tell the barista what you’re looking for they should be able to make it without an issue. If you wanted a camel macchiato without espresso, you’re looking for a vanilla steamer with caramel drizzle, for example.
Alternatively, you can ask for any espresso drink with decaf if you still want the coffee flavor but without the caffeine.

  7. Like the last person said, yes, you can technically order any latte without espresso. With the exception of hot chocolate, a hot latte without espresso is called a steamer. A vanilla steamer, for example, is steamed milk with vanilla syrup. For cold drinks, you can just order a cup of milk with syrup of choice. These are not very popular so an inexperienced barista may need you to clarify what you are ordering.
Additionally, you can get tea lattes. These are very popular and include the chai tea latte, the green tea or matcha latte, and the London fog. The London fog is earl grey tea steeped in water and with the addition of steamed milk and vanilla syrup. You can find these at most coffee shops as well.
