What is the big fuss about keurig machines and thelike? They make utterly ghastly coffee, cost a fortune for a home-brewed drink, and waste TONS of plastic every day. ANd the machine itself is damnably expensive.
If you really want to make just one cup of coffee, get an espresso machine. For the cost of a box of K-cups, you can get the close to best coffee on the planet. It’s not quite as convenient and not quite as quick, but there are advantages.
There is no need to thank me, Your taste buds will thank you.
UPDATE: I have been advised to update my credentials. I have tried and I cannot make any sense of the credential system. It would help if the “update credentials” message included a link to a brief how to…
And thanks to those who read my answer anyway.
The answer is no. As you know, Keurig brewers take K-Cups, whereas coffee pod brewers use pods. The thing is the brewing chambers in each kind of brewer are totally different.
In your Keurig brewer, both the top and bottom of each K-cup is pierced when you use it, and the water is pumped, under pressure, into the K-Cup itself. The K-cup contains both the ground coffee and the filter. So Keurig cups cannot be used in Nespresso coffee maker. If you are looking to buy a coffee maker then there are several options are available. But the French Press is the best coffee maker.
I’ve read that Espresso isn’t a roast, but rather a fine grind. To that effect, I’ll go to Sprouts, buy a pound of their espresso roast and get as fine a grind from their machine as is possible, and since I have a 2 cup auto-drip, it really IS pretty good! No crema, though!
To the untrained eye, it might seem like Keurig coffee makers and Nespresso coffee machines are one in the same. And while both are indeed single-serve coffee makers that use pods and capsules for quick brewing, they are wildly different.
For example, you cannot use K-Cups inside of a Nespresso machine. You also can’t use Nespresso pods inside of a Keurig. You cannot interchange capsules and pods. The pods designed for Nespresso machines won’t even fit into a Keurig, and the same goes the other way around.read more…..@..
Similarly, Nespresso cartridges can’t be used in a Keurig machine. If you were looking to replace a weaker coffee, you’d be wise to use reusable cups that you can add your own coffee to, so that you will get fresher tastier coffee.
But I would suggest that neither Keurig nor Nespresso are fresh coffee… it’s just not possible for them to be fresh. If you’re in any doubt, check the expiry date for one that is as far in the future as possible.
Rid yourself of stress. Make coffee with this. No cups, no waste, coffee doesn’t cost $50 per lb.
Fits everything.
I’ll mail you $5CDN if you can cram a Keurig K-cup into a Nespresso machine’s loading bay without cutting, crushing, bending, flattening, or otherwise mangling it . Non-edited pictures are required for proof for me to send you the fiver.
Here’s a Nespresso capsule right beside a Keurig K-cup, for example. You tell me.
Eight O’Clock
No. They are designed exclusively for the Keurig machines.
No, they won’t fit. They have a different shape and size.
However, you can buy a reusable pod. Open up a K-Cup and empty out the coffee grounds into the reusable pod, and use the reusable pod. But you are better off using actual Nespresso pods.
Victor Allen’s
No.
They make refillable capsules for both, though. A mild pain in the butt to save a boatload of cash, though.
