  1. According to Amoxicillin and caffeine Drug Interactions – Drugs.com there are no interactions.
Coffee: Health Benefits, Uses, Side Effects, Dosage & Interactions says antibiotics can slow down the breakdown of the caffeine in your blood, thus making you more prone to having side effects like palpitations, jitters etc. when just drinking the to you normal amounts of coffee.
The body breaks down caffeine to get rid of it. Some antibiotics might decrease how quickly the body breaks down caffeine . Taking these antibiotics along with coffee can increase the risk of side effects including jitteriness, headache, increased heart rate, and other side effects.

  2. Interesting question there, mate. The answer is usually yes, but there are a few exceptions.
Generally speaking, you can drink coffee while taking most antibiotics. In fact, coffee might even enhance the effects of some antibiotics. However, there are a few exceptions. This is because coffee also has certain chemical compounds that may heighten the effects of a drug or vice versa.
For example, you should avoid drinking coffee while taking the antibiotic metronidazole (Flagyl). Drinking coffee while taking this medication can increase the risk of side effects such as nausea and vomiting.
As mentioned, some antibiotics can also make you more susceptible to the effects of caffeine. For instance, the antibiotic ciprofloxacin (Cipro) can increase the level of caffeine in your blood. This can cause side effects such as insomnia and jitteriness.
Caffeine can also speed up the absorption of some antibiotics, which means they may not work well. So if you’re taking an antibiotic known to interact with caffeine, it’s best to avoid coffee altogether.
In most cases, it’s perfectly safe to drink coffee while taking antibiotics. But I’d still recommend drinking water with your antibiotic or any medicine instead of coffee.

  3. Yes, and no.
    Im principle, coffee is okay.
But as some antibiotics (including amoxicillin) CAN increase the effects and side-effect of coffee, you should not increase your coffee intake while on antibiotics.
Also, if the MD prescibed you bed rest for your infection, coffee is probably a bad idea.

  4. Yes. However, if the coffee is too hot, it might damage capsules. Coffee will not affect antibiotics, nor will tea, hot chocolate, carbonated drinks or fruit juice. Most are OK with an alcoholic drink or milk but don’t drink a lot of alcohol while on antibiotics; a glass of wine, a beer or cider with your main meal is fine but don’t drink much more than that. Certain foods do disagree with certain antibiotics but your doctor or pharmacist should warn you of these unusual drugs.

  5. If it does not say specifically on your prescription bottle ‘Take with a full glass of water’ or ‘Take with water’ you can take any medication with any liquid you prefer. If they’re capsules though if the liquid is hot then the pills tend to stick.

  6. I understand that antibiotics as prescribed by a doctor should be taken after eating some thing and nothing should be eaten (except water) untill one hour thereafter in order to avoid contradictions/ side effects etc.
