  1. Do you mean the cold brew process eg starting brewing the night before and drink in the morning? If so it would work but might be a bit weak as usually brewing time is 12-24 hours.

  2. It’s meant to be left out overnight. Sure you can brew it in 8 hours, but if you want it to taste right you want to leave it overnight.

  3. While brewing? Absolutely. I brew mine at room temperature for about 24 hours with occasional stirring. Some people make theirs in the refrigerator, but RT totally works.
After that I keep the liquid refrigerated to preserve it. If you’ve left that out overnight, check for mold. If no mold, it’s probably still ok.

  4. Depends, are you still brewing it or has it already been served?
If you are just brewing it, then that is ok. When I make cold brew at room temperature, I usually steep it for about 12-16 hours. When brewing in the fridge, it takes longer, around 20-24 hours.
If it has already been served and say left on the counter overnight, well that depends on how desperate you are for coffee, personally I would just make a fresh serving.

  5. A qualified yes, assuming you haven’t added sugar or milk products to it, it will be safe to drink.
It will be stale and likely won’t taste as good as when it was poured.
If you have added sugar and milk (any soluble fat product) and overnight room temperature wait will be quite unpleasant and probably unhealthy.
