  2. They can and as long as they exercise proper care with their eyes, hygiene and eye drops they should do OK. The fact remains that they often do not do any of these and are at increased risk of infection and loss of vision. Alcoholism is a disease that requires medical treatment.

They would be told (like anyone else) that alcohol may cause problems in conjunction with the medications taken for the first 24 hours after, but such warnings usually don’t faze a true…
