10 Best Coffee Drinks at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is one of the most well-known coffee chains that I’ve seen all over Los Angeles, but do they have the best coffee drinks?

When I first did this article (and many people helped me by sampling), it focused on comparing Coffee Bean’s core drink line up. With new additions like “Pour Over” and seasonal offerings, this list has become so much better! Here are my current 10 best for Coffee Bean:

1. Ice Blended Mint Chocolate

Hands down my favorite coffee drink of all time, but only when it’s in season! The flavor is so unique and is made up of ingredients like chocolate syrup, green mint syrup, ice cream with bits of peppermint candy mixed in, whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings on top. YUM! When I do include this into the list, I consider it more of a milkshake than a coffee drink.

2. Caramel Brulee Latte

Coffee Bean’s signature espresso drinks are usually pretty amazing because they use real espresso shots (with some exceptions), not pre-brewed garbage that most chains use! This one has gobs of caramel sauce inside for an extra caramel flavor. The coffee is fairly mild, so this isn’t a drink for non-latte drinkers.

3. White Raspberry Mocha

This seasonal drink has the best of both worlds! It’s a mocha with white chocolate sauce instead of milk chocolate and tastes like a raspberry mocha frappuccino from Starbucks but better since it uses espresso shots! Not available right now sadly 🙁

4. Iced Caramel Macchiato

Coffee Bean makes great macchiatos as well! In addition to the gobs of caramel inside, their iced macchiatos are made with real espresso as well which you don’t find at most other chains. They also pack in whipped cream on top too.

5. Iced Vanilla Latte

A pretty basic drink but it’s made with real espresso shots and tastes great! Coffee Bean has a unique way of making these that involves them slowly pouring milk into ice cubes so you don’t get watered down iced latte like at most stores. Their vanilla syrup is also the best you can find since they make their own (not from a bottle).

6. White Chocolate Mocha

This was one of my favorite drinks on this list before the addition of the white raspberry mocha and it’s still good and seasonal as well! It has gobs of white chocolate sauce inside and tastes like a high end Starbucks frappuccino without the price tag! Not available right now sadly 🙁

7. Iced Caffe Americano

Coffee Bean’s iced americanos might be one of the best out there because they’re made with just water, espresso shots and it’s served over ice instead of through a faucet. The flavor is very rich and intense!

8. Mocha Coconut Frappuccino

If you like Starbucks’ mocha coconut frappuccinos (or B&BW’s vanilla bean ones), this drink offers a similar taste at CBTL but with real espresso shots! It also tastes great blended too to make it more milkshake-like for those who like that kind of thing.

9. Pour Over

This was Coffee Bean’s first housemade coffee drink and is now available year round since it’s so popular. It’s made with a special pour over method that they invented where hot water is slowly poured through ground coffee beans to extract the flavor without any machine or paper filters. The result is an intense, bold and super flavorful cup of joe!

10. White Chocolate Mocha Lite

Coffee Bean’s lighter version of their white chocolate mocha uses skim milk instead of whole and light vanilla syrup but still tastes great and is seasonal as well!
