  1. Yes it can and it often worn in Asia and the Middle East as well as parts of Africa. Both my husband and I wear 24 kt wedding bands. We made them a couple of sizes too small and the hammered them up to fit us. The act of hammering it work hardens the metal so it wears well.

  3. Of course, and it used to be. It is sometimes still made from “nearly” pure gold (for example, placer gold; gold flakes and nuggets, are often used in jewelry and are 22–23 Kt). The problem is that pure gold is very soft would not be practical for most jewelry because it wears down very easily, scratches, and gets dented.

  4. 24K gold is pure gold. It is too soft for making jewelry. The final piece can be bent or scratched easily. That’s why we need to add alloy.
18K is very popular in Asian countries. 14K is more popular in America.

  5. Ornaments making are required to be held tightly in top a diamond and precious stones. 24 karat gold is not used for making jewellery because of its softness. Anything made of 24 gold will bend easily. For example , a ring made of pure gold would be damaged and bend. so it can’t wear 24 gold jewellery .it is impossible

  6. It CAN be, but 24 ct gold is generally considered too soft for use in jewelry, though it is sometimes used in India as wedding jewelry. (Part of the bride’s dowry.)

  7. 24ct gold has soft in strength but heavy in weight. Durability of ornaments made from 24 CT gold is low. It will consume more weight and thickness to withstand its usage. Cost of ornaments becomes double to afford.

  8. If you are asking fancy stylish jewelry than answer is no but if you are asking about round bangles and rings or some solid pendants answer is yes.

  9. Pure gold is a very soft metal on its own so it is often combined with an alloying metal (like copper and zinc) to make it more resilient and durable. The ratio of gold to alloying metal corresponds to the different gold karats like 24K, 22K, 18K, etc. The higher the karatage number, the more pure the gold is, or, differently said, the higher the percentage of pure gold is relative to the alloying metal.
With all that said, jewelry can be made with 24-karat gold. However, because of how soft the metal is, it’s not very common to see.

  10. The hardness of 18K gold is the most suitable for jewellery, suitable for styling for inlaying, and the jewellery works can be brought to the most beautiful state by polishing and other techniques.
And making jewelry with 24K gold is a Chinese tradition, because investment should be considered in the process of belting.
The color of 24K gold is very vulgar, loves deformation, can’t be inlaid. The style can’t be too complicated. So 24K gold jewelry you buy gold first and then jewelry. But in Cartier you buy a piece of jewelry to buy a piece of art. Instead of buying gold.
There are a lot of people who ask why 18K gold is still so expensive? Because the most suitable material with the most suitable gemstones will give her the perfect artistic life by the jeweler to create a high-priced luxury.

  11. YES, one of the first customers that I had, came in with a chain that was marked 24 kt. and I tested it, checked it with a magnet and it looked very good. But I was inexperienced and didn’t trust it so I turned it down as 24 and offered him 22 kt for the piece. he didn’t take the offer. I asked my buyer about it and he said he would have accepted it as 24. that was one of my first lessons in the business. The seller was a Chinese gentleman who stated he had brought the necklace from China.

  12. Yes matter of fact I own a 1 oz bracelet made of .999 pure gold. No fancy design just a plain long bar curved. It’s flexible.
I guess there are limitations on what can be made or designed…

  13. Gold is usually alloyed with other metals to make it more durable and to produce different colors. For example, when gold is alloyed with copper, the resulting metal is rose gold. When it is alloyed with silver, the resulting metal is white gold. Jewelers often use different alloys to create different colors and designs in their pieces.
Yes, there are a few types of jewelry that are made of 24K gold. These include necklaces, bracelets, and rings. Gold is often used in jewelry because it is a very durable material that doesn’t corrode or tarnish over time. Additionally, it has a beautiful golden color that many people find appealing.

  14. It’s never possible to say an absolute no to a question like this because someone will invariably pop up with a custom piece and make a big fuss about being wrong.
In general jewelry isn’t made from 24k gold because it’s very soft. It’s usually alloyed with something else to make it stronger, hence you’ll typically find gold jewelry is made of anything from 9–18k gold. In the UK most jewelry is 9k or 18k, in the US 10k and 14k are more common.

  15. Jewelry made with 24 karat gold is often thought of as the best quality of gold that you can buy. However, very few people actually own jewelry made of 24K gold because it’s rare for jewelry to be made of solid gold without any other metal alloys mixed in.
In fact, Indian jewelry is known for using gold with very high purity. In addition, often the gold jewelry you see in the U.S. is 14K gold. This means that the gold jewelry in the U.S. is only about 58 percent gold.
The rest of the 14K gold jewelry is actually made up of a combination of other alloys. Did you know that 18K gold is about 75 percent pure gold? Therefore, the higher the gold content, the softer the metal.
This means that the lower the gold content, the harder the piece of jewelry. A durable piece is jewelry is sometimes necessary if you plan on wearing it every day. Most people don’t know that 24K gold is made of pure gold and is actually bendable.
This is why most rings and wearable jewelry are not made of 24K solid gold. However, when you have pieces with high gold content, they have a more buttery appearance. So although high gold content pieces are more malleable, they are also very beautiful and have that rich buttery-yellow color.

  16. It could be made of 24-karat gold and somebody wanted to do that but 24 karat gold is so soft that your jewelry would very soon bend and break. Different alloys are added to gold to give the jewelry strength because gold is a very soft metal.

  17. 24kt gold is very pure gold. The only reason not to make jewelry from it is that it is highly malleable. That’s an engineering word for “stretchy”. Gold that’s very pure can be pulled into another shape.
By diluting the gold with cheap copper or nickel, 14kt or 10kt gold can be made cheaper and stronger. That’s why most cheap jewelry isn’t made from 24kt gold. But if you want to make something from it, there’s no reason you can’t do it.
